Retirement of You’ve Got News, Replaced with Iowa College Aid Insider
This month, Iowa College Aid is retiring You’ve Got News, and replacing it with a new newsletter, The Iowa College Aid Insider. You’ve Got News was one of our primary vehicles for providing product, service, regulatory and student aid industry news to the financial aid community.
Our role has continued to change and evolve since the passing of the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, which contained provisions that eliminated the authority for lenders to originate new loans through FFELP. The Iowa College Aid Insider will provide monthly information about the programs and services we offer to Iowa elementary, middle, high school and college students as well as job seekers. While You’ve Got News was heavily federal compliance and regulatory focused, The Iowa College Aid Insider, in contrast, will focus more on state financial aid programs, education statistics and agency initiatives.
The Iowa College Aid Insider will be delivered via monthly email starting next week and will contain a condensed version of each news item with links to more content online at IowaCollegeAid.gov. You simply scan the headlines and decide whether you want to read more about a particular topic, saving you time.
If you are a current You’ve Got News subscriber, you will automatically be added to the distribution list for The Iowa College Aid Insider. The newsletter will be distributed to students, parents, educators, counselors, colleges & universities, legislators, and college access partners, ensuring all of our partners are kept up-to-date with important information.
Please watch for the introductory edition of The Iowa College Aid Insider to arrive in your inbox next week. If you have any questions, please contact Heather Doe by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call her at 515-725-3417.
